High School Students
It can be difficult to stay calm as the buzz of college planning surfaces across friends and family conversations. During the college application process, students are juggling classes, activities and work, thinking about schools to apply to, writing essays, and more!
Comparing GPAs, volunteer experiences, student activities can be a lot, and horror stories can start to take over! The goal of our college counseling packages (no matter when you begin) is to help make navigating the college admissions process as stress-free as possible.
Our goal is to get to know students and help them feel informed and comfortable with the upcoming college application process. Topics and activities include:
-
How to evaluate college selectivity as well as how college decisions are made
-
Guidance on stress management techniques and coping strategies to support students throughout the application process and beyond
-
Personalized college list development based on personal and financial fit, academic goals, and future career aspirations
-
Suggestions to fill any academic or extracurricular gaps
-
Advice on standardized testing including preparation and signing up for test dates
-
Guidance on finding and applying to part-time jobs and summer internships
-
Creation of a detailed timeline and checklist to track application deadlines and ensure all materials are submitted on time
Transfer Students
While many things about the application process are the same for first-year applicants and transfer students, there are some key differences. We help transfer students navigate the application process and make sure you know:
-
How to best emphasize your college experiences
-
Important deadlines and transfer requirements
-
How to build a great transfer-focused college list
-
How to get great letters of recommendation
-
How to make sure you're on track to transfer to your preferred major
